A Local/Tribal Incident Management Team (LTIMT) is a local Type-4 functional, multi-disciplinary group of knowledgeable
and experienced individuals assembled for the purpose of:
The teams can be “functional,” which is to say, made up of the same kind of personnel (fire, police, etc.) from the same or multiple jurisdictions, or the team can be “multi-disciplinary.”
The mission of the Local/Tribal Incident Management Team (LTIMT) is to assist a local Incident Command Team or other authority having jurisdiction with the management of an incident or a preplanned event in an efficient manner, considering the safety of the public and incident personnel, and make effective use of available resources.
The LTIMT will accomplish its mission by providing personnel who are qualified, trained, organized, equipped, and prepared to support a local response to a major emergency or a special event. This support can be in an advisory/assistant role or as member of the incident command structure.
